4 Coats You’ll Need This Season
Ok, is it just me or did it become cold overnight? Personally, I was not ready to pull out my humongous winter coats. I waited until the very last second to pack away my denim jackets. I couldn’t fathom my leather jackets not be enough for the weather! While I was doing so, I couldn’t help but wonder if I needed new coats for the season. Clearly I have a habit of buying that I don’t need or that I already have, it’s only because I need it in every color (I mean who doesn’t). While I may need to lay off the spending I figured I will tell you all some coats you’ll need this season. The thing about coats is that this is your “outfit” while you’re trying to fight the cold this is the first thing that people see. This is your biggest statement piece.
Teddy
When Teddy coats first made it’s debut they were known for the camel color oversize jacket made out of a faux fur or shearling material. When I first was introduced to it I was in love it literally feels like a teddy bear on you! It is so warm either material will easily brace you for the any cold wind. Now that they are sort-out in the fashion world, they now have a teddy coat in every color so won’t feel left out I love a pastel color or a neutral color to pull any look together.
Trench
Oh, the classic Trench coat. While the origin dates back to the 1900s for military officers, it has lasted through decades as a timeless piece of fashion. The double breast, wide lapel, double lining, and belted at the waist is all essential for the cold weather. Trench coats comes in a variation of material but the one that is most needed is wool fabric that is heavy enough to keep you warm some of my favorites are from Asos and H&M.
Puffer
If you live in a cold climate than a puffer is what you NEED. I love puffers honestly they evolved from cropped, waist, and maxi length to the different textures of velvet, leather, and satin to name of few. But they still provide that same level of warmth. They have a down which is made out of fine soft feather found closest to a bird’s skin that provides a “heat trap” fluff that is perfect for thermal insulation some also has synthetic insulations which is just as good but holds better in the washer.
Parka
Now, don’t let Puffers and Parkas get you confused while they are constructed similarly they have noticeable differences. Parka’s are considered a thicken down coat now remember the downing is what carries the thermal insulation the traditional style has a fur lining and hood to add that extra warmth. Parka’s are mostly worn in harsher cold weather the extended length of the jacket they typically fall mid thigh or longer to keep the warmth inside. Parka can found anywhere mostly department stores here are some favorites from J.Crew and Macy’s.
FALL Trend: Boots Edition
These BOOTS are made for walking and that’s just what I’ll do!
The most staple things that you can have in your closet for the Fall (and Winter) are boots! The variety is so wide that there are all styles of boots for every gal and guy. There are some that can be dress up or dress down, edgy and tomboy to feminine and romantic.
If we went through every style of boots, I’d probably be here forever. (No seriously), So here’s a few that I am loving this season.
Over The Knee
Over the knee boots have been one of the trendiest boot style, because you can use it as a gateway for transitional pieces. Styling shorts or miniskirts from the Summer can be easily transformed into a fall look by have the OTK boots to cover your legs and show just the perfect amount of skin. Another great way to utilize them is for layering your look. To add extra cozy vibes, you can use the boots with leggings or stockings to cover from the brisk winds.
Chunky/Combat Boots
If you need a little extra height, these boots are for you. The perfect edgy boot that’s turning heads this season are the chunky/combat boots. They are a great contrast to any look, they come in various lengths such as knee length, mid-calf, and ankle. These boots are perfect for casual looks and is amazing for the girly/feminine contrast.
Booties
Besides over the knee boots, I think booties are the second best. They hold the same level of variety as over the knee boots but in a different way. There is low shaft, tight ankle, mid-shaft, semi-wide ankle, high shaft and the list goes on. Now don’t let this scare you - the variations of shafts merely describe the height of the bootie. With styling booties, the different shaft is important. However, another key factor to keep in mind is how wide the ankle is. For example, sock booties are considered high shaft. Tight ankle is best with mom jeans or fitted long dresses. Mid shaft booties are commonly used for the different textures and colors. Like in the image above, the white booties are mid shaft/tight ankle, which is also great for jeans and everyday wear.
FALL Trend: Faux Leather Edition
Happy October!!
Fall is here and ready to slay!
I can say with full biasness that Fall is best season around. With the burnt orange leaves, spiked apple cider lingering in the air, Hocus Pocus re-runs, and how could I forget the return of the infamous Pumpkin Spice Latte. But, the main thing that I always look forward to is the Fashion. The transition from allllll the Short Sets and Sandals to Faux Leather Jackets and Teddy Coats.
While we are entering to October, which is the true start of Fall, because September can be such a transitional month. You cannot pull all your statement pieces with Summer still trying to linger on with some warmth and you don’t know which directions the weather is going to sway.
Fall trends are something I always look forward to seeing. Different brands droping their fall campaigns is eye catching. While some trends are timeless and come back every season, there is newly introduced trends.
Faux Leather
Faux leather is such a big umbrella when it comes to Fall fashion. There are a varity of leather jeans, pants, jackets, and tops.
One of the newest things that I have seen this season is the leather shackets. Now shackets were debuted last season as a transitional piece, it takes on a shirt and jacket combined together. It’s light-weight enough for the Spring/Fall weather where there just a little warmth throughout the day but warm to keep you cozy once those Autumn nights hit.
Another new piece that is also very popular this Fall season is the leather blazer. This piece can be dressed up or dressed down with the options of oversized or belted it can elevate any outfit. You can even pair it with leather pants and turn it into a power suit.
The last trend under the leather umbrella is the classic leather jacket. A timeless piece to have for entering fall. My personal favorite is the oversize jacket. because it’s big eniugh to cover your whole body (bum haha) included to keep you warm and cozy. Another popular favorite is the biker embellishments or cropped that adds a little flare to your jeans and cute top combo.
I hope my love for faux leather make you love it too and try this amazing trend for your new fall wardrobe.
Below are some websites that I love to shop these trends and has a wide varity of colors and sizes.
Missguided, Pretty Little Thing, Nasty Gal, Zara, and Princess Polly.
Hope it helps.
