Top 3 Winter Sweaters

I think sweaters is a universal language, everybody has a familiarity with them one way or another. Sweaters are so versatile, you can wear it with a skirt, leather pants, jeans, and almost everything in your closet. While this is a great paring piece, we can’t forget about sweater dress or knitted two piece this also very popular this season. Most times sweaters can also be worn through most seasons depending on the fabric type, this article of clothing is a timeless staple. We may have passed the linen sweater weather, this the perfect time to get those chunky cable knits together!

Cable Knit

Cable knit sweaters is actually a knitting style were textures of crossing layers are achieved by permuting stitches. They are usually made of a wool-blend material with balloon sleeves. I love cable knit, I think it’s because this is essentially the root of the sweater world. The other styles listed below has cable knit version one way or another. It keeps you cozy, it has various styles of sleeves and colors. There’s literally one for every person. A little pro tip: this textured sweater can come off a little bulky so be mindful in styling, that’s why proportions is key for sweaters that way it will flatter your body type.

Turtleneck

I have such a rooted love for turtlenecks, I always gravitate to them. From my experience they are one of the most flattering piece of clothing. While it keeps you warm, they also come in a lot of variables such as fabric textures and style of garment. Some of my favorites are: wool and cashmere (because they are the best quality and last the longest) for style I love ribbed turtleneck I think it’s great for layering under a simple white button slightly open brings a added dimension to the look. Another great style is obviously the oversize chunky turtleneck it is perfect to pair over a slip dress, maxi skirt, and any other bottom pair that you can think of. A new trend that I am seeing more of is sleeves warmer sweaters no I’m not sure if they meet the qualifications (you be the judge here) but it is a very modern spin on the classic sweater check it out!

Vest

While the preppy trend is making a strong comeback this season, I couldn’t help but to morph back into my Gossip Girl, Clueless, and The Princess Diary faze. Pull out your best tennis skirt and don’t forget your knee high socks because school is back in session! As you may know, this is popular in Catholic/Charter school as their uniform but this year it has taken over the fashion scene. The most popular way is oversized (fitted is a thing too) but styled with a white button up underneath, with the oversized style that could be used as a dressed depending on height. Another way is with a fitted turtleneck shirt underneath this totally reminds me of Princess Diana as she was know for fitted turtleneck under various sweaters.
